Trending & News I broke my wrist a couple of weeks ago. It is preventing me from doing a lot of things. I know it could be worse but it still sucks.

Yes. For the first 45 years of my life I had never broken a bone. Then over the course of a year I broke 5 toes on one foot and the fibula with an ankle dislocation that required a plate to be put in on the other leg. The first foot the said they didn't even want to repair. They said it would take too many pins and they think it would best to just let it heal naturally. But all the bones are angular which pushes on my big toe, destabilizing my foot and causing me to have a bunion. I don't want to make it sound worse than it is. I can walk on it in relative comfort (so long as I'm not barefoot). But I can't play basketball on it (something I dearly love). It's like having a piece of my heart amputated. It's still changing so they said they'll do something if it starts causing me noticeable pain. I look at it this way. I probably shouldn't be dunking a basketball at almost 50 anymore anyways. This might be saving me from greater injury.🤣 with my stubbornness I'd play at 80.
Broke my hand twice fighting when I was a young knucklehead. 5th metacarpal bone, a “boxer’s break.”
I was lucky to get an ulnar gutter cast that I could at least take on and off with it was itchy or I was showering. It was my good hand both times. That’s the hardest part, just learning to live lefty.
Rest it up, man, hope ya feel better soon
Yes, we're sick boys, we like to get into fights!

@beefcakebradybatson we just need you to stay out of the way and look good, we’ll handle the rough stuff👊😎
Those seem a lot better than full-on casts. I remember kids having them in school growing up, and they were always trying to stick long objects in them to scratch an itch, haha. Always good to get back in the gym and at least do something👍
Glad to oblige, WhiteSteve !!!
Had an accident 11 years ago. Broke my hip, got hospitalised but recovered soon as I was young.. but I remember feeling so scared when I couldn't get up, and I thought I'll never be able to walk again. I can walk, jog and dance but yeah, I try to be careful now as the older I get, the more it will take for me to heal. It sucks not being able to do what you want to do. Hope you heal soon.
Ankle bone and foot bone AND wrist. All after I was 40! Never had a broken bone before then.
Make sure you aren't suffering from osteoporosis. Luckily, I wasn't. But was overactive and clumsy. I'm more careful. Broken bones later in life means longer healing and sometimes arthritis.

Yes, my right wrist.
Seems like I just answered this question the other day.
You said that you broke your left wrist and that's the hand you write ✍🏼 with. 🤷🏼♀️
Yes.
I broke my left tibia and ankle into pieces 2916. I have 12 screws and other metals in it. My surgeon told me I might need another surgery at some point.
I am doing well enough, but it can hurt sometimes.
but no running or
Yikes!! Typo! Happens when typing and didn’t reread… smh…
At 2016* so almost 10 years now… I am just hoping it will last till I retire then see how things go… for now… I can walk normal and enjoy our trips.
I remember teachers in my school always said… I’ll travel when I retired. I just listen…
So many being inactive with health issues… as they get older… their new life is sit home, in their pool, watch tv and complain about life.
Seems like they are afraid to get out of their comfort zone.
Nope. I had a motorbike accident and fell from second floor. I had swellings and bruises in all colors but never a broken bone.
I broke my leg when I was 6, double spiral fracture 🫠
Nah I jumped off monkey bars at a park
I've broken a thumb punching someone in the face.
A finger oddly from doing finger pushups. I didn't even notice it was broken, but after 2 weeks it was still in a lot of pain and took about 8 weeks to heal. Just let it do its thing.
Yes. Several times. I have a bone condition called osteogenesis imperfecta (aka brittle bone disease). Basically, a person with this condition is at risk of breaking bones easier than a person with “normal” bone density.
I have broken so many bones where would I start. Both legs an arm , collarbone. The list just goes on
I was 9 in 1993 when I broke my femur on the trampoline.
I tripped over my sisters leg
It happened on Christmas Eve and I had a hipspiker cast that I had to wear for 6 weeks.
It's summer in December where I live so having a cast in the heat was not fun.
Hope your wrist hasn't been too painful and it heals up nicely.
I have not that I know of. I've done stuff in the past where it could've happened, but it just never has. I always drank a lot of milk growing up, so maybe that helped 😆
Only when I was a baby apparently. Crawled outta the crib and landed on my arm. Since then, I've only fractured a few of my fingers.
Of course. My first marriage was a huge mistake.
Wait, I think I posted this to the wrong question. I didn't get any broken bones as a result of my first marriage.
I did have a hairline fracture of my left ulna when I was about 14 years old. Playing tag football in the street, took an unexpected fall, and. . . BAM!
oh a wrist isn't bad but ik its still annoying and yeah i've broken a couple
collarbone was the worst
Shoulder, arm, a few fingers, thumb, leg, foot and 3 toes. I'll take a broken bone over torn muscles and ligaments any day
Brooke my big toe falling off a curb, my index finger punching a big giant fucker in the side of the head and knocking him down, broke an eye socket getting punched in the eye by my brother when he was drunk
I have broken several ribs. At one time I broke 4 ribs and fractured 2 of the same ribs.
Nope. I've been fortunate. Cuts, scrapes and bruises I have had, and an occasional sprain, but nothing broken... yet.
No... but I did have to get stitches for the first time ever about two weeks ago.
Two bones in my wrist, dislocating one. My nose twice. Both big toes. One of my fingers, I don't remember which. Maybe other fingers, but I don't remember if I broke them.
Although you feel that the current situation is bad, from another perspective, perhaps this is a forced opportunity to rest and reflect. People always start to see things they usually ignore when they have to slow down but I hope you adjust your mentality to enjoy life we are enjoying life after all
That makes two of us on wrist. Skating in my teen days. Tried to show off to some girls, lol.
Yep, broke my foot trying to learn how to ride a rip stick when I was probably around 11 to 14 years old. I stopped trying to ride a rip stick after that😂
Yes, arm in three places
Get well soon. I hope your pain goes away as soon as possible.
Yes, more than once! Wait until the itchiness sets in!
None in my 72 years, though yesterday I fell while going to a store, scraped my right knee and was helped to my feet by two road construction crew dudes, who disinfected and bandaged my abrasion after I gingerly walked to a nearby bench.
Just my big toe. Still don't recommend though.
Somehow no. Whole lot of stitches though. Torn tendon.
Nothing major. I’ve broken a toe, and i think i’ve broken bones in my hands.
Yes. I had a seizure, fell, and broke my shoulder bone.
I think I broke one or more ribs two weeks ago. Do not recommend it.
Does it hurt sweetheart?
@exitseven
Put ice on it
Compound fracture of my right tibia and the fibula on the same side broke into several pieces.
Big toe only right foot but only found out a few weeks later
I've broken toes and that hurts like hell. I can just imagine how much a wrist must hurt. Sorry this happened to you.

Nope, never. I've had stitches but never broken a bone
