No, I think around $1000 is the normal price for a decent mattress.
I got my mattress and box spring for like $900 (then again that was for both, not just the mattress alone)
But I think it will be worth it. It’s something that will last you for years. There’s nothing worse than having an uncomfortable bed
As for me when it comes to buying a mattress I buy what is comfortable & when it comes to price if a mattress is comfortable I’ll drop $1200+ easily.
Sure, it's not good to cheap out on your back.
@Daniela1982 Exactly & a good night sleep is worth it.
Mattresses are not cheap today, at least for a good one. $2,000 or more is not unheard of. but think, you usually keep a mattress for at least 10 years. Your back will thank you for making sure it gets the best support and comfort. You will sleep much better too without tossing and turning.
@exitseven Hell yeah!
I don’t think you can ever pay “too little” or “too much” for any type of thing, it all depends on the function of the product and if it’s worth the money.

Nah I spent 900 on my mattress
Divorce is expensive and my ex got the bedroom furniture so I needed a cheap mattress and bed. I think I lucked out because I got the most comfortable sleep I have ever had in my life and I used to get the really expensive ones. Other people that have slept in my bed say the same thing about it. So here is what I got. Highly recommend

Think about it like this: you use your mattress almost everyday, unless you’re away. One of the most important things we need to do to take proper care of ourselves is to sleep well. Plus, a BAD mattress can actually CAUSE you problems, in your back, hips, etc.
There’s plenty of dumb shit we can spend our money on. A comfortable night’s sleep on a daily basis that will probably last you at least ten years….. that’s a worthwhile investment, in my mind👍
I’m not much for frivolity but a mattress like that would offer me the blessings of many restful nights. I’d say it would likely be worth it.
If it lasts 10 years, that's 3,650 nights of good sleep, and 3,650 days of waking up feeling rested. Sounds like a good deal to me.
Usually I wait till the go on sale then buy. A $1000 isn't a bad price considering it should last 10 years or more.
You can probably make it last for a long time, so it is probably worth it to pay for quality. Just be sure to rotate and/or flip the mattress every six months to keep it from wearing unevenly.
That's a reasonable price for a good mattress, many cost even more.
There’s 3 things you splurge on… a good sleep, good food, and a good home. All 3 are worths the investment.
After all you spend 1/3 of your time sleeping…
Hell no, sleep is a matter of health how much is your health worth to you your recovery is serious man it’s life or death we don’t have batteries in our asses we need rest good rest
Always spend more on things that separate you from the ground (beds/shoes). You spend almost 1/3 of the day in bed.
Unfortunately, this is pretty standard price where I live. But check out the sales and see if your job or something qualities for a discount.
Nah, you in theory spend a third of your life in bed so spend away
That's like the standard amount they cost despite it being a blatant price gouge to consumers.
Not if it's the kind of bed that bends when you press a button. If its just a regular mattress though, thats way too much,
It’s a bit high but good sleep is important too so yo to you
Depends on the quality of the mattress and if you have trouble sleeping because of other issues. We buy the nicer mattresses since my wife has back problems and it’s worth it.
Considering the circumstances, yes, yes it is. I've spent less on a good one.
I would think that's a bit much for a super single. I think I would shop around before pulling the trigger. Maybe look at one of those adjustable beds.
For some comfort is a must a having a good night of sleep is a priority.
I'd rather spend $1,000 on a trip, but that's just me
Yes of course you can get adjustable bed for around that money
Mine was $8,000 and worth every cent. My back and hip issues were gone within a few weeks!
Yeah seem a bit high in my opinion
I spent more than that in 2004.
I don’t think it’s too much.
Pretty much highest i would spend is 700$ lol
