Depends on you, your preferences and what you like in gaming.

Do you want a hybrid console/handheld? Do you pay attention to graphics and want the best hardware, or are you more interested in other aspects of gaming?

I got a switch about 5 years ago and i am still happy with it.

Sure, in this case you don't need it, unless you want to play the Nintento exclusives or play on the go, by using the Switch (or Switch Lite) as a handheld portable device.

If you are talking about perfomance i would advice you looking at youtube videos comparing gameplay of the same game.

Like Witcher 3.

But keep in mind when using the Switch in handheld, your point of view is different and in general the handheld mode looks better compared to the docked mode.
