To cat owners, does your cat ever just stand still and stare at you?

i swear sometimes my cat will just stand still like this

not my cat just using as example

and stare at me for lengthy periods of time. looks like he's worshipping me or something. i try calling him over to sit or lay on my lap or near me nut nope just continues to stand and watch me :P

when I was 20 or 21// i was laying on the bed... and noticed my girl cat was staring at me/she was laying tdown to. kept going on form days. I told my boyfriend and said something is wrong... she keeps staring at me at certain times... it's scaring me.. even though she doesn't look mean about it, he said.. she's doing that because she loves you. I said, oh! ok, so felt better... at times though, I still felt scared, etc. about it.

for years... now, I will be laying on my bed and will happen to look down on the carpet, and notice that my man cat is sitten down straight up.. staring at me, I'm like yes hunny? .. are you wanting treats? etc...

other times.. he will come into the room any room... and stand there/ or sit and put his left hand motioning toward me up in the air.. this means he wants treats.

There was this cat in my garden whom my cousin brother (cat lover) adored a lot. That cat wasn't into me a lot because of my meanie granny look lol. But there were times he would stare at me as if I'm his prey. That kitten scared the heck out of me! Turns out that he was neighbor's cat. No wonder he stared at me like that.

Yes, Both of my cats do this from time to time. As long as you do not notice any health issues then it is fine. It can be that they want you to pet them/play with them. It could also just be them admiring you or watching over you. Could be that he wants you to follow him for some reason. When he does this, try to pet him and see what he does. I've been around cats all my life and still cannot predict them lol

I got two and one of them does this all the time like a stalker just standing at my doorway and staring at me. Then if I get out of my chair to pet her, she walks away.

The other one doesn't stare at me but she does something weird where she will just huddle in some random place in a room, not even looking at anything necessarily... maybe staring at a nearby wall. And she just stays there for ages.

I'm normally pretty level headed, but after owning several cats over the years, I'm convinced that they operate in a completely different to us. They are fickle, they want attention, but when you give it... they don't want it, they stare at invisible things, they sense things before they happen, and so on... It's cool.
