Does "walking away" from a situation or ignoring an obnoxious/unpleasant stranger make you a chicken?

Whats wrong with facing them like a man, and fighting them?

For example, if I walked into an establishment and got pestered by a group of teens/kids outside:

A) Ignore them
B) Tell them to "get lost"
C) Without hesitation, pounce on the little twerps and physically assault them on the spot.

I'd choose option C, because I have little patience for punks.

And if somebody on the road exceeds the speed limit, passes me, honks at me and flips me off? Well, I'd follow him and retaliate.

I'm not a chicken and I have little patience for these kinds of people.

Or if some mugger demands my wallet, I just kick him in the groin and punch him in the face. Why? Because I'm not giving anybody MY money, not even a penny. Again, I'm not a chicken either.

Hmm, the handful of times I've been "pestered" as an adult have been when I'm alone and it has always been 3 or 4 males, never 1 or 2, or more than 4(perhaps they don't consider it sporting with a large group?). Being of about average size and unarmed, I didn't consider it chicken but rather an act of proper discretion to walk away and not go barging into something I was unlikely to prevail in. Life isn't a Bruce Lee movie.
