Animals don't really talk. At best they have a small range of signal calls like feed me, I'm horny, danger etc. Warning calls are often recognised across the species barrier so it's feasible a dinosaur would understand a bird making one indicated there was a predator in the area

Cats can't talk to us, but they will hiss when they feel threatened. Dogs will start licking their lips or show teeth when they don't like something, before actually scratching or biting you. It is still a form of communicating

Birds can take away ticks from animals and the animals will let those birds be, because it is aware that the birds help them.
Crocodiles let those birds be too.
Sharks have those little fish cleaning them as they swim around.

In that way they learned to coexist together :3

I think it is only for survival purposes. Not about disliking something. Killing them for a food source, killing them to defend your hunting territory, your legacy, your babies.
