Is it possible for a psychopath or sociopath to be kind with animals?

One thing that had me puzzling was the very despicable Hitler. He was a mass murdering pyschopath (or sociopath) but yet an animal lover. There are pictures of him with a dog or deer. He had no problem with animals. There is no history of animal cruelty in him.

Can someone with sociopathic or psychopathic traits harm people but not animals? Is that even possible?

Ironically a couple rotten people will have no issues cheating, scamming others or even hurting others but won't harm a cat, dog nor other animal.

Did he truly love, or empathize, with the animals, or any of the people in his life? If so, it is likely that he was not a Sociopath, for they cannot sympathize or have true feelings for others.
It is not certain that Hitler was either a psychopath, or sociopath. His world view was unlike yours... he saw people as friends or enemies... and had no compunction about killing his enemies!
He was almost certainly a Narcissist.
