Im hoping the used car lot will at least do a trade?

So 2 months ago, I bought a car, so of course I understand about the " as is " but I feel like my situation isn't considered as, " as is?". So on Saturday I took my car to get the rear brake shoes and drums replaced. All of a sudden, I see the mechanic telling me to step inside the garage and to my surprise I saw that the whole frame needs to be replaced, it was extremely rusted and parts of it was chipping off and saw holes, and the mechanic said that it wasn't worth fixing. So I'm hoping on Tuesday the place I bought my car would at least let me trade it in for another car. They told me to take pics to show them proof so hopefully that helps, the mechanic even gave me his number and business card of they have to call him.

So we couldn't find a trade, since the car I bought was the cheapest than all the others, but they decided to fix the frame for free and fix anything else that looks like that needs to be fixed for free. I'm okay with that because I really do love the car.

As is means you’re probably out of luck. If you’d found these issues immediately after buying it you might have a leg to stand on, but any dealer selling a car old and poorly maintained enough to have a rusted frame likely won’t be very helpful

From the way the salesman looked, even he didn't know it looked like that, he even told me as is considered minor issues or rust on the body, each car he showed me, he told me the minor issues and showed wear rust was located on some of them, he even showed me one car that had a rip on the seat. He said other than that, all the cars are great, which I believe him. The car I bought was perfect even had low miles, he even helped me with an estimate and wear to go for parts when I told him about my rear break shoes and drums, so when I went to the mechanic that's when I saw the rust on the frame and when I showed him the pics he even didn't know because he said that he will let the owner know and I can call on Tuesday and arrive when the the owner gets there. So I'm guessing for him to be so understanding and willing to help, maybe I might get lucky. I just feel like the issue I have shouldn't be considered as a as is, because safe wise it's extremely dangerous and I'm not risking driving it anymore. So I'm just going to ask them to tow it back.

Well of course he’s gonna act shocked, doesn’t look good to admit he sold you a POS. Used car salesmen aren’t known for their integrity 🤷‍♂️ Obviously wasn’t perfect if the frame is fucked

That's why I'm hoping he really didn't know, a part of think he did know and wad hoping it wouldn't get bad especially when I told him I'm not the type that goes places. Work and home and that's it and grocery stores that sells everything is my go too. So he was probably hoping nothing would happen, but it did.

Well they can take a trade in on anything with a title no matter what shape , will they do it probably not if its a small car lot otherwise junk yard give you maybe 200 bucks for it depends on what make and model

It's a pretty big lot to be a family owned business. Every week I always see 6 more new cars being added.
I have a 2007 ford focus everything is perfect, I mean even the mechanic said that this car would have been in perfect condition if it wasn't for the frame.

I doubt they will do anything for you. Maybe don't mention anything about the frame and see if you can trade up. Tell them you want a better looking ride.

I already showed the guy that sold it to me because the car can't even brake in time, it literally goes all the way to the floor and it still doesn't break in time, I almost got into 3 accidents in one day because I had a hard time stopping. Even he was shocked and said that he will show the owner because he isn't authorized to do trades so I guess I can? But maybe he thinks it can happen, but we both could be wrong and the owner will say no.
The place is kind of like a buy here, pay here type of a used car lot, I decided because they had the car I was looking for and everytime I try to find a private owner it's always a scam. The car is great, low miles and everything, I just didn't expect to see the frame so terrible looking and the way the salesperson looked he didn't know it looked like that as well. So whoever looked at that car before telling them they can sell it, did a terrible job. Even the mechanic, that knows about them, even he said, " they have never done this before, usually all of their cars are in great condition just have minor issues that can be easily fixed to do yourself or cheap to take it to the mechanic" like for instance I needed my rear break shoes replaced and the drums. That's considered as something minor. I just wasn't expecting to see all of that.

Never buy a used car without having it inspected by a mechanic. My guess? You are screwed.

Well sadly I had someone looked at it, I guess they just didn't expect to look at the frame, my mom knows how to fix cars and she didn't think anything of it because they all said the same thing, no one should sell a car if the frame looks like it will fall off any minute. I'm just hoping the salesman isn't assuming the owner will let me trade because he told me he's just isn't authorized to do trades, but when he saw the pics he said they can do something. So hopefully he's 100% sure about it. If not, I don't know how I'm going to get to work, especially my hours are like a manager hours because I'm trying to become manager, and my boss lives on the other side of town to pick me up, especially since she has to go there first, to count money and go to the bank. Crazy thing is my parents bought a car there and had no problems with their car, I wish I could have been lucky like them

They even told me the previous owners must have taken good care of it because it drives so smoothly which it did, perfect engine, low miles and everything, but I'm guessing they didn't check under the car because even the guy that sold it to me was shocked when he saw the pictures.

The mechanic said I can sue if they don't because my situation isn't considered as is. They said within a month it probably would have fallen off. No body should sell a car like how mine was. I work travel now, so I don't know if I can go to work because the brakes goes all the way down to the floor and it still doesn't stop in time

Just put Lincoln in the shop for same thing

Majority everyone at the mechanic shop had brake problems, sadly it was more than that for me. I even bought the parts and everything.
