assuming it's above and beyond your established budget. (if you don't have one of those, MAKE ONE.)
figure out if you absolutely need to spend any of it on something - it must be very important (e. g., emergency).
if no emergency, then do NOT spend it. put it in a high yield savings and build an emergency fund.

Those are narrow options. Are you in ANY kind of debt? Then pay down credit or installment loan debt. If you have anything left. Put it in savings and start working on both of those other goals.
