What is Power? What does that word mean to you?

How would you define power? We all recognize that people with money have power, people with fame/status have power, and people with the potential for violence have power. But how do you define it yourself? Is it the ability to get what you want in any given situation? Or is it simply the ability to influence those around you to act in a way that you want.. I'm open to inputs.

Organized knowledge, energy, or effort

Books for example are potential energy. They hold a certain amount within them. Once you use it and implement it NOW you are exerting power bestowed upon you by that knowledge.

When you pass on knowledge and have someone else work with you to get something done. Your power is both your energy/effort + his energy/effort. You're able to get way more done with less.

When you provide enough value to enough people who are motivated to help towards your cause. All of their effort is your power. Your power is the group.

When someone is successful it's largely because they have the power (organized energy or effort) to get whatever they want without infringing on other people's rights.

Money is a form of power or potential energy. So having a sizeable amount in savings is a base for being powerful. Becoming powerful is largely a choice and requires you to be disciplined, a leader, and having a pleasant personality that people want to actually work with you

It actually is a good question. Most people when saying someone is powerful they usually mean "Rich and Powerful" as a throw away term or think politicians.

Like when I imagine powerful people I think people who know people who will do shit on their behalf. Technically a drug dealer could be powerful and the source of his power is what he sells, money, and potentially some fear.

While a CEO of a company his power is the energy of all his employees with the source of his power being more wholesome. Usually building something of substance to benefit society and everyone is working towards the common cause with the motivation of a good income to care for their family and social validation.

People don't often think about how much employees actually get out of the relationship with an employer

Can't think up world now but you can see those thinkers in French revolution. For me, that base on environment not like USA samsung cartel that spread on middle company and can balance Gini coefficient. I still need to prove myself. I just use neighbors to exercise public things. It is hard to say what I present in reality to solve Sparta values but I think make them lost existence then they know how they weak actually. Cause their fantasy memory that is made by people around them. so to lead them to know because you make them. so it is happening China is like Russia. I think we will walk on another branch without westerners to make their sanction invalid. Not about the war because that is what western countries have been using. Just think the solution, we don't like what they feel now too.

I'm struggling to follow your response if I'm being honest. But it sounds like you are saying that China is like Russia in that it uses it's allies to make public power moves. But that China does not want to (or should not) make a power struggle in a violent war (aka War) because that is a spartan way of consolidating power. A western way. China (or you or somebody) wants to be Dominant in philosophy or ideals so as to weaken the morale of your enemies.

Actually, that does not matter in buddhism because Ukrainian want to rule eastern Ukraine too. yeah those neighbors are same with you because it can not be seen but western philosophy also discusses it too.
