Are there any muslim guys out there who don't want kids?

Does getting married always mean to have babies? I'm just terrified of childbirth and the fact I don't really love kids all that much.

Salam. No, it doesn't mean you have to have babies but you have got to mention it in the marriage contract. Speaking for Jafari madhab of Islam, you know, even things like 1-no polygamy for the husband 2-no sex 3-no spending nights together etc. can be mentioned in the marriage contract. Usually in Iran, since dating and relationship without wedlock is considered haram, youth marry temporarily (mutah) let's say for one year. And they go out together, have family visits etc during the period. And once they make sure they want to spend their lives together, they make the marriage permanent. So, basically both parties set the rules of the marriage in the contract.

As for your question on muslim men not wanting kids. I gotta tell you that it is in the innate nature of men that they want to have their progeny continue. So, I don't think anyone would agree that. But if you are a hundred percent sure that you don't and most importantly won't want kids, then you could meet an infertile muslim man or someone who had previous marriage/s and have kids. However; I heard it a lot that, women who say they don't want kids, really do want them in the next years. You may not like kids being noisy etc. But you do love them when they are your own.

I mean, I had this weird thing that I could not hold little creatures in my hand/arms. I thought I may hurt them. I could not hold chicks, ducklings etc and certainly not babies younger than three. But I did hold my own babies the minute they were born. My wife also did not like kids and certainly did not know how to change diapers. But she grew affection when we had babies. And now I think I am ignored most of the time because she gives all her attention to the kids. LOL. Being jealous of my kids.

So, you see, things change and God creates affection in the mothers' heart for their kids. You will love it/them inshaAllah.
