Can you tell the difference between year, here, ear?

When these three words are spoken in your local accent how difficult are they to tell apart?
If you hear the sentence "this year I'm having surgery on my ear so I can hear." Your brain automatically realises which is which. But spoken alone without context it can be difficult in some accents.
