When people are together they bond to each other- especially if they are intimate, and especially if it's the first intimate relationship of a girl.

When you have someone close to you, and then they are gone, your mind with experience a dissonance- your primal mind (the one that feels your ex is still your lover- because this part of the mind doesn't understand modern breakups) will conflict with reality, and transpose this person (s image) onto a fake reality (i. e. a dream). The dream is meant to project things as your primal mind wishes them to be (as they're still your lover there) to correct for the fact that this person is no longer in your life. It's a coping mechanism that can act like an echo for years after.

This is why women must be careful in who they are intimate with, because the bond can be incredibly strong.

It has probably some scene in a movie you saw and he was the closest male you found as that person so boom now you dream about him subconscious is a weird place
