it’s easy to say yes or no, but it’s hard to tell when you’re actually in that situation. but I’ve put myself in harm's way standing up for my friends, and if I saw someone in need of my help then I would do my best to help. one thing is for sure, I wouldn’t just ignore it and walk away

I have instinctually. Reacted completely without thought. Shocking more people than just myself.

I jumped in front of a child to protect them.

You can't say that. It's a stressful situation. You don't know in advance how you're going to react, no matter how disciplined you are.

Okay fair enough, but would you be able to LIVE with yourself knowing that you could have prevented this person's death with your help, but you didn't. I sure wouldn't be able to, at least not without advanced psychological help. Extensively.
