I’ve never once used an electric razor or disposable razors. I shave with either a shavette (a straight razor but with disposable blades for hygiene reasons) or a double edge razor. I believe investing in a quality piece will not only give you a great shaving experience, it can easily last you for the rest of your life (because there are no electrical parts or buttons, all you have to do is change a disposable blade every few shaves).
When I first started shaving, I took into account all the different types of shavers/razors and I settled for both a shavette and DE razor for the following reasons:
1) Yes the upfront investment is significantly higher but it pays for itself in the long run.
No electrical parts and buttons mean it runs no risk of breaking down and it does not have to be depreciated. I paid $120 for my shavette from DOVO Solingen (German Made) and another $125 on my DE Razor from Merkur Futur (German Made). Disposable razors can go for anything between $1 to a couple bucks per piece (which probably lasts between 5-7 shaves). Disposable blades are dirt cheap and I bought a couple hundred blades for $25 - enough to last me 7-10 years (maybe more).
2) It’s of SOLID construction. It feels solid in the hand and feels extremely well made. Makes shaving feel like a privilege and lowers the risk of having ingrown hair.
3) Disposable blades = hygiene, right? I’ve no issues using the same razor for my face and body (or wherever needs the occasional trimming) because all I have to do is switch it out for a new blade. Well I still use separate ones for down there though!
4) The lubrication patch on the disposable razors dry up overtime and it causes redness and itchiness post shave. I’ve never had any issues that my friends have described to me when using my own razors.

the best razor I've used is not good
They haven’t known how to make them for the past twenty years. It’s all cheap and flawed options. Sell high and short lasting. There is no care to quality anymore, that doesn’t make enough money.
Dollar shave club has good ones 🙃

I use a regular razor, but I get them from www.greatrazors.com
They cryogenically freeze them, and they last a long time.
Much longer than the off the shelf ones.
Same blades, they have them all plus disposables, and they are not much more expensive than the ones you get in the store.
kind of makes you wonder why the razor companies don't do that process.
Try them you won't be disappointed.i switched back to a safety razor quite a few years back. cost me like 8 bucks. got 100 blades for another 10 bucks. i'm not even through half the blades and i shave pretty much daily.
so for litterally like 4 years of shaving i paid as much as for the gilette starter set that maybe lasts you a month or 2 before you need new expensive blades.
I have that exact Gillette razor. It does a fantastic job, but the refills are the most expensive in the store and always locked behind the counter.
I used mine exclusively during covid. It's as good as being waxed -- if you do a few quick cleanup passes each time in the shower.
Now that things are more or less normal, I'm back to getting waxed, tho. I love the experience.
I use a double-edged razor. I converted like 6 years ago and I’ve never looked back. There’s less waste, the blade replacements are cheaper, and the shave is closer
Not sure if they are the ''best'' - but I'm totally happy with:
Single blade, traditional: ''Feather''
and
5-blade: ''Mornin' Glory''
Remington electric
The best electric shaver I've ever owned is a Norelco 5801XL which is still going strong after more than 20 years. Manual razors, I have no idea.
They always fuck up my neck, don't use them. I use a beard trimmer and it always looks like I shaved 2 days ago haha
The best ones are the classic blade ones. But they're also more prone to cuts.
I solemnly believe that whenever they come up with an 'n' blade razor, they drop the quality on 'n-1' blade razors. I remember a time when 2 blade razors were just fine.
Merkur Mk34c Double Edge Razor
It is a safety razor. Cuts great, blades are so cheap.
Watch Youtube or your face will be cut up.
