Losing and/or offending the people I love and care for, or even the people around me.

Up till a few years ago, I was an outcast. I had little to no friends, I was bullied, I was that weird kid in class.

I am much more successful at maintaining relations with the people around me now. But given the scarcity of true friends around me when I was younger, combined with a yearning for approval because I wanted friends, and I thought that showing off my capabilities would attract people to me. Little did I know, it did exactly the opposite.

And because I had little friends but have a mostly extroverted character, I felt like I had to cling very tightly to friends that I had. I felt that if someone took long to reply to my texts, they did not want me. I became paranoid that if I said something and got left on read, I may have offended someone. I became oversensitive to such things, even when there was no reason to.

Sure, sometimes I have said the wrong things or used the wrong tone, but ultimately losing friends and loved ones, is a part of how we grow and mature. It was never meant to be an easy process.

I had very little friends, yet I have lost at least a few extremely close friends due to either my own fault or no fault of my own. This is why I value friendship so much and often overdo it when it comes to getting emotionally involved with my friendships and acquaintanceships, even here on G@G. As a result, I fear offending and losing them, because the emotional aspect means that it hurts to lose them.

That I will have to go to either the family or spouses' residence and inform them that their loved one will no longer be coming home, that they passed while under my watch because of either a decision I either made or didn't make.
