What would you add to make a small kitchen w/extremely ugly wall 🎨, visually palatable?

The kitchen wall paint is terrible but the kitchen itself is TINY….. Any larger & I’d probably on apartment entirely. At this size kitchen, I can probably make it into something not too bad. The rest of the place Is spacious and the walls are white.

Kitchen is puke yellow. Honestly I didn’t know there was such a color outside bile. 😬

None of these are necessarily the choices…. I’m just giving examples of different easy to remove texture options, to put on the wall.

I figured it was an apartment since you qualified your option of painting with the "if it's allowed" clause. My choice would be to use a "strippable vinyl wall covering". Sanitas is an old, well-established brand you might still be able to find. If you go to Etsy and search for "Sanitas Wallcovering", there are lots of choices, but they are NOT all Sanitas. Some of the newer brands are fine too, but, I'm old so I'm more familiar with the older products. :- ) Just don't think you can pay $15 and expect it to look like a $1,500 job!

Sanitas was one of the originators of a fabric-backed, strippable "paper" with a washable vinylized surface. More recently, they replaced their woven backing with a non-woven backing similar to Tyvek which makes it a bit less stable and a bit less strippable. If you apply any strippable covering, be sure to use a paste that is meant to be used with that covering. Good luck.

Vivant I would say repaint if allowed to. I say that because you mention that the kitchen is tiny. Some of your poll options might make it seem even more cramped. As you already know, light colored walls make a room feel more spacious. (Bile yellow doesn't count. Lol)
So what about painting it white or off white and then have a minimum of wall decorations to make the space seem less cramped?

If the wall space allows for it, you could add some wooden floating shelves and focus on getting neutral accessories on them. Wood color or earth tone colors (neutral). It will make the wall color pop but will also give it a more designer bohemian look.

Depending on your lighting choices, natural and otherwise.. Go with a bold wall colour. Like a deep red, or a forest green etc? 🤔😊

Most Landlords allow you to repaint as long as you do it on their own, me and my cousin's place is alright with the Landlord if we want to volunteer and do our own thing to make it look better.

Probably repaint/paint over what's there. In a rare situation I'd tile but paint seems the best solution and least intrusive.

Paint is the best option. Talk to your landlord, and go with a neutral palate and they'll probably let you leave it (as long as it's done well with even coverage/crisp edges/no drips)

I wouldn't move somewhere with a small kitchen :)
Check with the landlord to see if you can repaint it and do your own mural then repaint it white before you leave if the landlord wants it plain.

I quite like those world pictures.

If you are repainting make sure you use 'kitchen and bathroom paint', it is waterproof.

Frankly I would suggest that you always use kitchen and bathroom paint regardless of where you are painting.
