Do you HAVE to talk to your co workers?

Is it a must to talk to your co workers? I like to my work quietly no talk but co workers always start convo and i dont want to come off as a rude person I try to engage in the convo even tho I want to be left alone, I work in grocery store by the way

Yeah that is kind of a rough place to be able to not talk to co workers. As from my experience when I use to deliver Wonder Bread, Hostess, Sara Lee, and Little Debbie. To get away from that I have since transitioned into graveyard or 3rd shift I have heard it called. Not many people out in the hours so other than the network radio my job requires to be on, I have a lot of hours by myself. Though if I hear Michael Jacksons Man in the Mirror again I may drop kick someone. lol :/

Well, I have to. I manage people. I want an environment where they can open up to me. I find small talks lets me know people, and let those people know me as well.
