How common is giving birth in the US as a tourist?

My mother was on a multiply entry tourist visa. She purposely used it to give birth to me in NY. That's her favorite state and she wanted me to be born there. She had that well calculated. She doesn't regret and feels she didn't break any law nor did anything wrong.

Eventually she got a work visa, then applied for a Green card and has been a citizen for the longest by now.

How common is using a tourist visa or any other to give birth in the US?

Look up statistics, also thats a terrible idea assuming their home country already has a Medicare for all system as we don't have that useful shit here I remember 1 story from 2014 a tourist gave birth while visiting but she had complications or something like that and was charged nearly a million dollars

yeah luckily my mother had an easy vaginal birth. NY isn't really my favorite state though. I'm more into enjoying nature and natural parks. They're found more in California, Colorado, South Dakota or Utah. I'm not too much of a NY fan.

I guess but my mother technically didn't break any law. She never overstayed her visa (always renewed it back then) and afterwards did applied to stay permanently. So nothing wrong there. I guess the only thing wrong is she took advantage of her visa but still, not against the law to give birth as a tourist.

Nope... It's called "Birth Tourism" and it happens all the time. Lots of pregnant illegal aliens do it too.

Birth tourism is one of the main reasons birthright citizenship should be abolished for the children born to foreign nationals on American soil. It's a fraud.

I guess. Yet it's not illegal what she did. She's only guilt of taking advantage of the situation and her visa. Nothing can be done there.
I still don't get what's the big deal about NY. Every state has it's own good qualities too. I like more California, Colorado, South Dakota, Utah; their beautiful natural parks and its nature.

Probably not all that common, because pregnant woman usually don't travel, unless they are in their first trimester.
