Generally yes. That's a much higher than average salary. Of course you have to factor in coat of living and other needed expenses to see exactly how better off you are. Regardless, that's a reasonably high salary for now. Give it another 100 years and that'll be far from true

You think $40K is hard? The average in my hometown is over $90K I see signs in places like Panda Express paying cooks $23.50 to start. That is over $48K. I pay my starting techs $25/hour, and might have to up it in order to attract people.
