I believe 2023 will be good to me. For me, 2023 is more about getting things in motion rather than reaching goals themselves. For example:

1. This is the year I draw close to Jesus like I never have before and see where he takes me.

2. I am returning to college to finish my degree after 4 years absent. I have 13 classes left before I graduate so obviously I will not get the degree this year, but I will be damn close. My work in 2023 is setting me up to graduate in Spring 2024.

3. This is the year I finally move out of the hotel I've been living in and get an apartment. I applied to one. Got denied due to a charge off, but the manager said as soon as it is paid I can try again and assured me that was the only reason I was denied.

4. I became a Correctional Officer this year. It is my goal to become a police officer. To do so, I need to get in shape so I am going back to the gym and continuing my martial arts training. I am waiting to get my degree before applying. This also gives me enough time as a CO to make myself look better in the hiring process and to balance out the effects of past indiscretions. During my last semester of college (Spring 2024) I will apply to the police department and hopefully make the Fall 2024 academy. If I do not make it to be a police officer after a few tries, I will stay in Corrections and move up that ladder.

5. Financially, I am still recovering from a Bankruptcy I declared in 2021. I cannot use my VA loan until 2025, but I can repair my credit and save and try to own a home in 2025.

6. I turn 30 this year and am ready to try to date again and (hopefully) find the woman God wants me to be with and someday start a family.

7. I am saving for a 2024 cruise since it has been my dream to go on one.

I am hoping that my work in 2023 will set the foundation for all of my goals to be accomplished by 2025 (the family one will probably take longer, but hopefully I am at least in a serious relationship by then).
