What’s going on in your life right now?

Question

I basically have no life at the moment. I broke up with my boyfriend last month and seem to have no luck meeting someone recently lol. So no love life here.

I also don’t have a best friend or close friend at the moment. And I’m very bored.

I’m enjoying the peace and opportunity to focus on my priorities but if you ever wanna talk about something, I’m your girl!!! Comment below and let’s chat (about anything!) xx

I have an amazing love life and I can tell you one huge reason is that, when I was single after a divorce, I spent several years with no love life. I waited until I could understand what went wrong with my previous relationship, why I had settled for it, what value I could bring to a relationship, and what I wanted in a relationship before even thinking about dating. Also, I committed myself to being single until I found a good match. That meant turning down opportunities for companionship and relief from loneliness in the belief that it would ultimately be worth it to wait for a match in which I could be confident.

I think you should view this period of boredom as a crucial time for your future. You have some experience with relationships that didn’t work out. Perhaps you have already done this, but try to scrutinize how you got into the relationships that didn’t work out and whether you missed or ignored yellow and red flags longer than you should have. Try to figure out what you really need in a relationship and think about whether it is realistic (like 6’4” making $300,000 per year is going to be hard to find, but “attractive and hard working,” kind, family-oriented, patient/attentive, someone who has a calming effect on you… enough people have these characteristics that you have reasonable hope of finding a man who has them. Fortunately, you are young and haven’t been in a long-term marriage, so it shouldn’t take long to sort through these questions if you haven’t already. I don’t think you need to wait to start dating. But I hope you are able to know what you need, to know you are a good catch who does not need to settle, and quickly discard the suitors who will not provide what you need.

I was unemployed for a year and a half , I get the thing about not having a life. I ended up on GaG because I was isolated because of Covid. I was facing major surgery to make things more interesting. There was somebody from GaG that texted me out of the blue and really helped me during the surgery. We are still friends today and I have met a couple more people too.

I’ve been having a tough time cause my stepdad is kinda emotionally abusive and I have nasty step sisters but we’re going to be leaving soon I hope. But I’m actually pretty happy cause I have the best boyfriend in the whole entire world, I love my family (I’m an auntie now) and I’ve been spending heaps of time with my pets. I’ve had a broken hand for the past 6 months though so I haven’t been able to ride in ages cause I ride horses, so that’s a bummer. But other than that, my boyfriend makes me so happy and I’m so grateful for him. We have the best relationship.

I broke off a fe months back with my LDR. We are trying to remain friends but it is a tight fit right now. I know with him, I didn't want anymore ties in a relationship. I am pretty contented, Finishing up my second published book and moving soon into anew townhouse. Your own life is what you make it. Good Luck.

Give yourself some time and explore yourself, you can try watching a good movie or series if you are bored (a movie How to be single could be fitting to watch XD, Wednesday was a good series to watch)
