I don't know what country you're in but in the U. S. there has been some success with clitoral reconstruction surgery. One of my nursing professors had been a former women's health nurse practitioner and had worked in communities where FGM was common with some of her patients. So as part of the class, she encourged us to learn about FGM and the reconstuction options in case we ever encountered a patient who was interested in the procedure.

I've always heard that nerves can't be repaired once severed. Therefore, reconstructing a clitoris is for looks, not functionality.

I would think so. You would need to talk to a plastic surgeon but I know people who have had fingers cut off and they never got great feeling back but they did get some. That was though basically sewing the severed but back on. I’m sure they can do something for you!!

Got this from a quick Google search didn't actually know it was possible Surgery can be performed to open up the vagina, if necessary. This is called deinfibulation. It's sometimes known as a reversal, although this name is misleading as the procedure does not replace any removed tissue and will not undo the damage caused. But it can help many problems caused by FGM.

I doubt that there is a fix that will come close to full restoration. But there are penis transplants so I am sure there will be some options available. I would worry about immune system rejection and the necessary drugs though for a clit transplant.
