This got me thinking, are there people in big cities who've never seen stars and do some of them think stars are just made up?

I grew up in Jacksonville, Fla. The stars that were visible were the brighter ones in the constellations. I did not understand how full the sky was until I went on a camping trip in a light reduced area. The sky is so crowded with stars. The brighter ones form the constellations, they are not the only one in the sky.
Wait, are you telling me that their really are, what did you call them, stars, in the sky? lol
As a fellow country person I also get a pretty good view of the fireflies in the night sky twinkling away as if someone was playing with them. Though I have never thought that somewhere someone may not have seen the stars shining on a pitch black night. Your question makes me wonder, could it be?
You never know. Some think the Sun and the Moon are the same thing. They must think the moon is when the sun is in night light mode. 😂🤣🙄🙄
Aome are real, some are just a fading light of a star not there anymore

I grew up in a rural area, and i’m quite fond of star gazing. I’ve had a number of the apps that keep me apprised of celestial events and help me to identify the planets and more complex constellations.
All anyone has to do to see stars is leave a big city for a night. Sure, we won't see the milky way, but we'll see stars. The most populous areas in the US are suburbs and as a lifelong suburbanite, I can always see some stars. In order to see the milky way, I had to travel to Hawaii.
We can also see Andromeda galaxy with are naked eyes.
@Well_Wisher You can but it is really hazy unless you have a telescope.
There are people who believe that the earth is flat, I wouldn't be surprised if there are people who believe that stars are made up.
The Flat Earth Society has members all around the globe!
So Brasil is in the arsehole, no?

Brazilian butt lift, Brazilian wax, Carnival in Rio de Janeiro
I'll keep it softcore so I'll stop there, but it sounds just about right.
I live in a suburban area, and can see the stars.
I think that they are real. I like to sit outside on a clear night and just enjoy the night sky. I have seen the Northern Lights twice from my home. They are indescribably gorgeous!
When people look up at the night sky, I expect them to see the eyes of their Lord and Master bean2k21 looking down on them. That thing that looks like the Orion's belt? It's my horsewhip, ready to discipline you.
I wouldn't imagine it's quite that bad but I do remember here in the UK they were asking city kids from around London where things like eggs and milk came from and they weren't too sure
You can still see stars in a city night sky but you can't see so many and you certainly can see colors of stars.
I don't it would be possible to think stars are made up.
There is people here that think the earth is flat with no proof. I'm 100% absolutely sure you can find people that believe in Santa Clause here.
they are real but the problem is the light is from millions of years ago. They may not exist "now"... when that light gets to us.
I grew up in the sticks and live in the sticks. I am always amazed at how many stars there are on a clear night.
No, but there are many people who believe that stars only exist at night... never seeing any during the day.
Only if they’re dumbasses.
But ironically a good portion of the stars you’re viewing probably aren’t there today. We’re just seeing the light still traveling billions of lightyears through space. The constellations are wildly different…
Made up by who? of course they real, why did they should not be real? for what purpose?
We're talking movie stars? That's the only kind of star, right?
They are as real as anything else in this universe.
The Universe is defined as EVERYTHING that exists, so there’s just one Universe. Other universes exist not.
@HippieVeganJewslim there are an infinite number of universe in different dimensions.
If everything in all of those ‘universes’ is real, then it’s all in the Universe.
And they are hundreds of thousands of light-years away
No, they're just paint spatter from Hunter Biden's nose art.
I believe in the saying if there's nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. Granted I type on here.. Anyway the sun is real.
Stars are real. Don't believe tiktok on anything science or space related. Please.
Sun is real. Rigel is real. Betelgeuse is (or was) real.
Of course they are real
Yes, but they don't seem to grant wishes!
I sometimes think this but we won't ever know.
Yes of course

are they truly stars, or are they air holes

Nah it's not real
