It's with an O. Now in other countries, I don't know. I don't know the dialect. Here in the states the O is silent. Never pronounce the O.
They are nasty scavengers. Just like raccoons. They carry diseases. If you get bit or scratched by one go to the ER quickly.
Opossums don't carry rabies; their body temperature is too low for the virus to survive.

oh. So, they also carry their babies in a pouch they have. I would've never thought an animal that small would have a baby pouch. Then again, tasmanian devils are small and have a pouch too. Or at least I think they're small, I have no clue.

I call it a Virginia Opossum but mainly refer to him/her as Didelphis virginiana.
He is an Opossum. Look it up in the dictionary and there is a little picture of this guy next to it.
It is not a possum so I assume it is an opossum.
