The difference between possums and opossums: opossums live in the Americas and possums live in Australia (both are marsupials).

It's with an O. Now in other countries, I don't know. I don't know the dialect. Here in the states the O is silent. Never pronounce the O.

They are nasty scavengers. Just like raccoons. They carry diseases. If you get bit or scratched by one go to the ER quickly.
