How many of you hate when someone tailgates you while driving down the highway?

I know i do. Mostly because if i have to stop in an emergency, they are guaranteed to hit me. I dont break check them, but i do slow down drastically to force them to pass me.

It is actually a very dangerous thing for them to do. Law enforcement mostly knows this and they are eager to ticket tailgaters. I was once tailgated on a mountain road and I went around a curve and a boulder was RIGHT THERE. I only had about one second to think about it but I hit the boulder because a car was coming the other way and I could not go around it. If I hit the brake the tailgating ASSHOLE would have hit me. After I hit the rock the tailgater went around me and kept going.

I don't mind tailgaters. If something happens they are the ones that will have the problem. I do notice them, though, and if they are terribly close and annoying, I just change lanes and let them go by.

What I really dislike is people who brake-check tailgaters. That makes no sense, since that is going to cause the tailgater to hit you, and wreck your vehicle as well as theirs.

agreed. I just slow down. Most of the highways where im from are two lane only. Meaning i can't just change lane and let them pass. So i slow down ( i do not break check) and force them to pass. Granted tailgating is illegal in most states.

I don't hit the break either, but I will get the sudden urge to use my windshield washer fluid. 😈

If that doesn't get them to pass me then I'll coast until they do. I got down to 35 the other day in a 65.

now I just go my Normal speed, I don’t really get upset.
