Why someone wants to rate your voice?

So we were rating and judging someone's voice because they wanted to know. Suddenly, this guy randomly asked me, if I wanted to know, what my voice sounds like. I shook my head saying no. The guy said "um" and there was an awkward silence. What does this mean, why did they want to judge my voice? I'm now curious, did they want to make fun of me?

Ok so this girl was sitting in our table, was insecure, and wanted to know how her voice sounded. While my table was debating. She allowed me to record her voice in my phone, and I played it to her. While I was recording, this guy asked me if I "wanted to know how my voice sounds like." I shook my head "no" in response. Now, I'm curious and continue to ponder whether they wanted to make fun of me.
