Do you dislike hearing your own voice?
Etc...
Omg yes... When I'm speaking I don't think it sounds bad. But when I hear a recording of it 🤯 why I dislike when talking on cell phone sometimes and people using headphones you can hear echo of voice. I stop talking till they fix that lololol... Or time to say goodbye lol
Yes. And, I am a cop so I talk to people all day 😂 and then I hear myself again when I upload my body cam footage at the end of every shift.
My coworkers always make fun of me if I have to talk to children because I don't have kids - or an interest to have any - and apparently my voice changes and I sound like a dumb ass 😭🙃😂
I do dislike it, but funny enough many girls and women have told me they liked my voice. Some very very much (wink wink scenario). I still often don't like it. However, recently I've begun to hear it neutrally or even positively. I think exposure and more effort to properly pronounce words has changed my perception.
Honestly I was kind hoping that having a tracheotomy and nearly breaking my neck would give me a voice like a I was gargling gravel. But it didn't. So I don't like or hate the sound of my own voice. It's just my voice and its there.

I don't like it. When I started learning to sing, I twisted it. I didn't use my chest tone because it sounds like a teenage boy (or worse). Good thing is I master mixed voice and head tone instead. Maybe that's not too bad. Eh?
@Jamie05rhs :D :D How about you?
Your voice sounds good π
@Guardian45 Okay. Thank you. Hiw about yours?
Nope, I have a Morgan Freeman voice but with a East Coast Canadian Accent.
I should narrate children's novels or perhaps take over the nature docs when David A. retires or passes away.
When someone calls the office at work, it's my voice they hear on the other end. Now that I'm working remotely from home, they redirected the office number to my mobile.
I put kittens and puppies to sleep just with my voice.
It's a common thing for people to dislike the sound of their own voice. Scientific research has shown that the soundwaves you produce vocally become distorted by the atmosphere they travel through once they leave your throat. When they bounce back at you, you hear them differently than when you first release them. So your brain automatically thinks "Hmm, that's not what I sound like."
Oh my gosh yes! I hate my own voice; it's so... boring and monotonous. Now add a Southern drawl to it: that's my voice :|
Yet everyone else seems to like it, especially people not from the region, lol.
Definitely. I'm not sure if I'm still going through puberty but I hope I am because I don't want to be stuck with this voice for the rest of my life. I'm literally 18 and my voice still cracks. 🤦🏽ββοΈ
I feel like it sounds different to me than it does to other people. I knew my voice was deep, but never knew how deep until I was told because to me it doesn't sound too deep. Perhaps because I'm used to it.
I think it sounds weird because we're not used to it, since we hear ourselves differently? I'm not a scientist/psychologist or whatever it's just a guess 😅
Hell yes... for me I sound totally dumb when hearing me in any records. Even if many people tell me I have smooth and dark voice and it sounds calming and so on. I still hate it^^
Yes, ever since a college professor (in my journalism course) told me I sounded boring after listening to a news segment recording of me as an assignment, which reflected the way I speak naturally 😔
@StephenCF your speak is amazing for meπβ€
Sometimes yeah. I've been sending voice clips to my friend whilst we game for ease and I just sound super posh, which is kind of embarrassing, haha!
I hate it cause I got that southern county draw lol.
The first take will always be shitty. After hearing that I will simply imagine I was
Leonard Cohen and the 2nd take will be so hot I will have to get off after... #autoerotcism
Yea I hate it. I think I sound common, but really I can hear my accent which isnβt great.
I've gotten better at enduring the sound of my own voice, but I still don't like it.
I have been told by a few different people that they like the sound of my voice actually, but I CANβT STAND IT!!
You have a soothing voice babe π At least evening youβre not doing your poking fun voice π
I don't think I have a bad-sounding voice.
However, I'm a terrible singer.
And, I know it.
Yes and it's weird because we hear it all the time. I guess it must sound different from the inside.
Yes I don't like hearing my voice. It's more of high pitched. I wish I had bit heavier voice.
Yes my voice sounds different than when I'm talking and hear it. Don't let people fool you there seems to be a lot of people that love the sound of their own voice for surr
It sounds really drab and monotonous and reminds me I need to add inflection and drama.
