Why did it take too long for homo sapiens to figure out riding a horse?

That's funny to think about. I imagine someone must have been SO LAZY and so against working like everyone else they started trying to befriend the scary grass-munching four-legged beast to do it for them.
It is a little strange that it took us so long given how profitable our domestication of wolves/dogs proved to be.
Then again, we could probably domesticatr dolphins or such now. Which might have spectacular payoff as that essentially gives control over the sea to us. Yet, we're not even trying. Some obviously good ideas don't appear obvious until carried out.
I am still trying to figure out hew somebody figured out that you could eat that thing that came out of a chicken.

You can't know when a human rode on a horse for the first time. It wouldn't leave any evidence. I certain that it's was way earlier than 5500 years ago.
Because horses were smarter
They probably ate them at first
