I think the desire to do some of them never goes away. Like no matter how much time goes by, 1 is too many, 1000 isn't enough won't change for me. For other ones that change over time to not give any benefit or pleasure anymore, you can change those.

I mean, the biggest point that matters is what you do anyway, so I suppose the answer is yes.

"Frequency of a certain action cannot be considered Terminated if the range of the observer is infinity or not defined."

So technically bad habits never really die.

Define the "end of Bad habit".

Take smoking for example, if someone really smoked from age 20-30 Yr then stopped, but then age of 50 that person knows he is about to die in few year due to any medical condition and he starts smoking again from your perspective, that person never really stopped smoking..

The issue is frame of reference.. Until and unless your change your frame of reference you wouldn't know actually results, instead count it in days or smaller time frame like weeks or months..

It's a flaw in spoken language that is why we have scientific methods and mathematics to define, measure and quantize and observe things..

Haha are u talking about sex or in general? I think in sex it may be a no. Fetishes and turn in can be rooted quite deep and most of the time we don't even understand them.

For other stuff I belive we can fir the most part. The brain is very flexible and can quite literally change shape with different habits like meditation. I think we can often refocus bad habits into good ones if we're conscious about it and divert the energy somewhere else

Lol. Sometimes I think it's more that the obsessive compulsive or the anxious are the drivers, rather than the, or the peer pressure egging on, rather than people having no will-power but I do hate words like willpower and self-control. Patience is good, but I dislike those preachy terms of "willpower" urgh yuck 🤢🤮

Habits can be changed but because habits are so powerful it takes an enormous effort. And it's extremely easy for them to creep back. That's why it's essential to replace your bad habits with good habits. I consider GaG a bad habit.

It takes 60-90 days to break a habit physically. Psychologically it can take longer, but no, habits - good and bad - can be broken.

i don't think all habits are ba.

i think it all has to do with the people who have the habits like if they have the to will to stop all their bad habits

Yes, I used to bite my fingernails until they were nubs. Before I went to basic training I said that I did not think biting my fingernails would be a good look for an officer. I stopped biting my fingernails and never did it again.

If they never die, we ought to be doomed. They seem to live on because intrinsically we don't believe they are bad. We only think they are because society or pseudoreligion said they are. Things we truly believe are bad, never survive that long.

They can die with time and commitment.

That's awesome. Any habit never really dies. What is a good habit anyway?

You can develop a counter habit, or CBT yourself to re-form the habit. Not easy!

Maybe most of us don’t want them to die completely. It reminds us of our past and how much we’ve changed.
