Should you pay cash for a car or just have them meet at your bank for a cashiers check?

I want to buy a truck for around 14k, but I don't feel comfortable carrying that kind of cash around. What's the usual procedure for this?

When the bank is open

Your bank should be able to provide you with a cashier's check for the purchase amount with your Car Dealer name in the payline.

Don't carry that kind of cash with you to the dealership.

I'm buying from an individual. How am I supposed to buy a truck this weekend when the bank closes at noon and doesn't open until Monday? They'll just sell it to the next guy that has cash between now and then.

Cashiers check to the seller, then you can pay cash or use a card at the title place and DMV.
