I added some people I don’t know too well and they didn’t reject it or add back and a few days passed. We were part of the same volunteer committee.

I think it was rude as though they’re not really interested in being friendly.

I wouldn't say it's “rude” straight off the bat. There could be reasons as to why they didn't add you back 😄
1. They haven't seen the friend request yet.
2. They only add close family and friends.
3. They might feel they don't know you well enough to add you to social media.

Or they didn't log on or they have a life outside social media or they didn't see the update or a half dozen other things I could come up with giving minimal effort.

Don't be so sensitive people have things going on more important than hitting your friends request.

Nah the volunteer committee is very social people were all adding each other

And those people still have lives, and you're not in the top five most important thing in those lives. It's a friend request. I click it when I click it. If I'm online I'm multitasking so I've got other things drawing my attention.
