Anyone here ever have one of those Chevys from the early `80's that has 3 square tail lights on each side? What are those cars called?

My mom had a 1985 Impala.

The three-taillight concept began on the Chevy Impala in 1958 and continued, as far as I know, throughout the Impala's long run.

My extended family and myself have had many Impalas over the years.

The Impala's of the early 1960s are my favorites.

My brother had a white 1962 Impala SS, black ragtop convertible, with baby blue interior. It was a sweet ride.

I had a 1962 Impala, also, but it wasn't as sweet as my brother's.

Thanks but, the one I'm looking for had to have been from Feb. 1984 or earlier. Feb. 22nd, to be exact.
These were completely red, square and on the back of a white Chevy. HAD to have been late `70's to very early `80's.

If you don't mind my asking, what's with the specific date and the color white?

The car the hit me was white and it hit me on Feb. 22 1984. It was a hit & run from behind. I've been trying to figure out ever since what kind of car it was that hit me. It was close to 10:00 p. m. and there were no street lights so, all I saw was the back end of the car. I could tell from the back end it was a modern Chevy but I had no idea what kind. Can you believe it, I've hardly seen more than a a dozen of those (if THAT many) since then and was never able to find out what they were! They were either driving to fast for me to get a make or they were on a t. v. show or movie somewhere and only for a couple seconds. Maybe I was in a car or bus and went past them before I could find out what they were.

The chevy impala had 3 square tail lights. My aunt used to own one.

Dad always bought Impalas but never had one like that. I'd have to see it from behind to know if it's the one I'm talking about.

Just below the top of the trunk. I wish I could find a picture of one! I just saw one in an episode of Columbo this afternoon. I'm pretty sure it was called, "Murder Is Hazardous To Your Health". George Hamilton made his second killer appearance in this one.

The one I'm looking for is completely flat along that back edge of the trunk and the tail lights are just below the edge.

I suppose that's it. The `80 Impala has a white light in the center of the center lights. What I'm trying to find doesn't have that. All three lights on either end light up red.

No, it's a big car. so far, I'm pretty sure it's a Caprice but, there's still a chance it was an Impala.
