what were the circumstances

Not me, but my grandparents moved from Germany to the U. S. with my Dad in the early 60s. Got their citizenship in New York, then moved to live in Kentucky.

Then moved to Columbia, South Carolina, then Lexington, South Carolina where my Opa went to Vietnam.

My Opa with dogs.

He mainly cooked for the soldiers there.

My Oma took care of my Dad and got jobs here and there. Also raised some dogs as well, and they had a couple.

They just wanted a new start in America. Lived in South Carolina until their deaths in 2017 and 2020.

I moved to Finland, where my wife was from. She was dying from cancer and I didn't trust the UK health system who missed the cancer 3 times in the space of a year and she was diagnosed stage 4.

Least she died with friends/family and not least competent health workers around.

No I left afterwards. I tried to stay for her son's sake but couldn't get a job, they hate foreigners over there.

When I was a kid, we moved to Germany. My dad's company sent him there.

When I was in the Navy is moved to Japan once and Guam twice.

Yep. Moved to Australia from London- just wanted a big change in my life mostly
