What WOMAN from HISTORY would you have DINNER with?

Question

If you had the ability to meet and have dinner with any woman from any time in history, who would it be?

Assume that she would time travel to today, meet you at your favorite restaurant, and be able to speak your language.

Most of the women from history that I would want to have dinner with are either canonized saints or are on their way to being so. So in a very real way, every time I receive Holy Communion, I am already dining with them.

A few examples that I have particularly in mind though are Saints Teresa of Avila, Joan of Arc, Maria Goretti, Monica, Therese of Lisieux, and of course, the Blessed Virgin Mary.

I'd also want to meet at least some of my ancestors. I'd want to meet my grandmothers' grandmothers and their mothers and grandmothers and forth.

Other historical women though? There aren't a ton who come to mind, at least that I know much about. The ones that I can think of though that I would want to know more about are Susan B. Anthony, the (as she is called) unsinkable Molly Brown, Harriet Tubman, Marie Antoinette (who, from what I have heard, showed much more love, kindness, charity, and sympathy to the poor than we have been led to believe) , and Catherine of Aragonx the first and only valid wife of the disgusting and despicable King Henry VIII, who allegedly, despite Hank's infidelities to her, remained a faithful Catholic and loyal to him.

I don't know if these things about the latter two are true. But that's why I would want to meet them and talk with them for a bit.

And for what it's worth, I'd really want to know what some of my favorite saints, actors, and other public figures were like as children 😆

I'll give the physicists ladies a miss - like madam Curie. I think out of curiosity I'd go Cleopatra not out of high expectations because her coins show she had an ugly huge honker. More because I have never met a high class murderess and I am curious how Greek looking she was.

If a religious answer counts then I'd meet the first wife of prophet Muhammad, Khadija.

Other than that, my favorite female author Ashapurna Devi. She learned to read and write by watching her brothers do their homework, and her feminist novels, despite being century old still hold so much relevance. It's miraculous that being born in a strict family where girls did not receive formal education, she taught herself to read and write by observing her brothers and she used to actually write the letters upside down at first since she would watch from writing sitting in front of them. She never got to travel the world or anything like that yet her thoughts are so progressive and she understood patriarchy so freaking well. I love the amazing women in history, writers and scientists but something about an intellectual like her without any formal education at all is out of this world.

King Tamar

Legendary Georgian ruler from 13th century, she was a woman and she was a king.

In our history, she’s the only female ruler who’s titled with the word “king”. She was so magnificent that she was given a title of King Tamar, and now every bridge, river, village, city is named after her.

Most women in my country are named after her.

She was a great example of wisdom and feminine power.

Anne Frank. She had a really peculiar take on life. It's a shame she went so young.
