Have you ever ridden a motorcycle? how hard is it?

So call me a dumbass but i ordered a Chinese motorcycle online just for some vacation fun. I wasn't thinking straight since i don't even have a license to ride motorcycle or even a truck to fit it. So i suppose i bought myself a lawn ornament. The order has shipped and arriving next week. How do you suppose i ride it? You think cops would care if i took it around the block a few times and practice?

I've ridden motorcycles off road and on private property. If you can ride a bicycle and know how to operate a manual transmission, it's not hard. But there are are some tricks to know, like being careful using the front brake because when you lock the front wheel you can't turn and will lose control. I did that on a friend's motorcycle at a park one time and learned my lesson. Thankfully I was on the grass. A friend of mine bought a new motorcycle and made that mistake while riding on a mountain road. He hurt his leg and messed up his bike.

There are probably other things to know, too. I was never a motorcycle guy, so I'm no expert.

You can probably ride your bike around the block, but it you get pulled over and don't have a motorcycle endorsement, you'll get a ticket for driving without a license.

I'm sure you will want to take some lessons before going to get your license.

It isn't harder than riding a bicycle - but there are some additional traps waiting that are specific for motorbikes (examples: brakes handling, curve technique, acceleration)

If you got no previous experience, I recommend to begin slow and easy, and in light traffic.

Cops usually aren't fond of your idea. But the license does not stick on your forehead, does it. Judge yourself how far you can fool your local policemen...

You can also have fun on non-public streets.

As for Chinese motorbikes - they are crap.

As my main advices to you: never over estimate yourself; and never trust traffic rules, or a car.

It’s like riding a bicycle with power, just practice somewhere, set up cones or go to a school. I got my license at 19 but I don’t ride anymore, too dangerous around here, hope you know how to change gears or is it automatic?

It's a 4 speed manual, I have never ridden any manual vehicle before. But i have watched a few YouTube videos on how. I heard you release the clutch slowly and you must press the clutch every time you shift gears.

It’s not hard once you practice a bit. Definitely do a few times around the block, that’s not doing anything wrong I don’t think so the cops are unlikely to stop you.

I can't really do it only because I don't know manual. Most motorcycles are still manual. I also wouldn't be able to manage all that weight as I'm a small person. I'd ratehr have an automatic and one of those three wheelers

Yes, I have ridden them before and even have a license. My wife has seen too many guys get messed up on bikes so she won't let me have one.

I imagine since it’s Chinese. It probably is something like a scooter. They are not any or much harder to ride than a bicycle.

Not really a scooter. This is an actual motorcycle. It's 125cc with a 4 speed manual transmission.

Only three wheeler dirt bikes but I’ve been on motorcycles before when I was younger one time around the neighborhood in the back it wasn’t my bike

If you know how to drive a car and ride a bicycle, learning to ride a motorbike is pretty easy.

Its not hard at all. Just takes some getting used to learning how the gears go... and no, I dont think the cops will mind, and if they do, screw them!
