Your husband isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. That stuff is barnyard insecticide. It's highly concentrated, you're supposed to mix a small amount with a lot of water, and not use it where runoff can contaminate stand and rivers. It should not be used near fish, birds, cats, or beehives.
WATER is a chemical. Would you use that inside your house?
Any given insecticide will tell you where it's safe to use; just follow the instructions on the label, and you should be fine.
The label says it comes with a booklet. Might be a good idea to read it.

It's not a good idea to use chemicals in an enclosed space. Try natural remedies instead, just Google for them.
I try not to. I usually just spray the sills on top of my foundation.
Use foggers. And follow the directions on the packaging.
Some you can and some you can't. Best look at the directions for proper usage.
