A quote from the relevant source;

My maternal and paternal ancestors immigrated to the U. S. from Ireland around 1850. They were Irish through and through. But my paternal grandmother and great grandmother may not have been pure Irish. I think my paternal grandmother had some English.
According to Ancestry. com, I am 45% Ireland, 31% England and Northwestern Europe, 13% Wales, 7% France, and 4% Scotland.
Some of that non-Irish DNA might have gotten there from early invasions and colonization that occurred in Ireland over the centuries. I have no genealogical records prior to 1850. I know that my great, great, great grandfathers were born in Ireland around 1795 and the grandmothers in the early 1800s.
