Why are standard bath tubs so small in America?

I’ve seen places like Japan having tubs that look to be comfortable for fully grown adults, while over here they hardly have space for a teenager to lie in comfortably.

We opted for a large, oval tub in our master bathroom. The only downside is, it uses a lot of water and takes a long time to fill.

Also, the amount of space allotted for a bathtub in a typical bathroom is about 5' long. And, accounting for the rim, that allows less space for the tub part. But it depends on the size of the home and the bathroom.

America has trash bathroom designs. Small tubs, head of the tub next to where you shit, etc.

Just... America was never into having good and healthy homes. It was always about providing the cheapst, shittiest quality shit for the highest price you could charge.

Hence, shit tier bathroom design.
