How long after a person you were very close to dies before it hits you after the shock has worn off?

a good long time. Sometimes it seems like it is better and then all of a sudden something will trigger a reaction and you will all of a sudden feel sad again.

For instance my money. The jerk got into my locked up file cabinet and stole my savings. He took it with him to someone or somewhere in our apartment building and then he died a few hours later. So there's no chance of getting it back. I mostly think like that about him. A low down thief! So that makes it hard to cry about his death.
I don't get it. I was always so good to him and nice and that's what I get - HURT AND BROKE BECAUSE OF HIM. TO TELL THE TRUTH, I HOPE HE'S NOT RESTING IN PEACE BECAUSE I AM SURE NOT!

Yeah, anger is still an emotion that is probably helping you get over him, he still had some good things about him or you wouldn’t have been living with him. It sucks he stole from you and you’ll never know why but what did he die from?

🤷🏼‍♀️- don't know. Probably for lying too much so God stopped him. See he thought he wasn't hurting as much as he was. Noe I am questioning if when he told me he loved me if that was just another lie. Probably!

I'm not sure what you mean but, when my aunt died 2.5 years ago, I cried a lot, partly because it meant that, from then on, I was gonna be COMPLETELY alone! When mom died 7 years ago, as much as I probably wanted to, I didn't cry at all, mostly because of the shit my evil, greedy ex-sisters were doing to the others in my family and I! I was not given the CHANCE to cry because of THEIR fucking insane bullshit!!
I cried a bit at my singer's wake about 12 years ago, even though he died a few months before. And then, I was banned from my own band's FB page!!
When dad died 17 years ago, I cried like a baby at his funeral, even though we really didn't get along until about 17 years before that.
