+1 yFood for thought. Do you want the government to know every penny you have every dollar you children get for their birthday every penny of a bonus every dollar in your retirement fund has in it every dollar from a lawsuit and their ability to borrow every one of those dollars without asking you and not have to pay it back? Think about it more of the government in your life just what we need!.

You hit the nail on the head.

It also makes it easier for them to freeze your bank accounts or even confiscate your money. Sadly, that is exactly what will happen in the future with a One World Government and One World Leader. Everyone will have a chip or card that has all your information on it. Since there will be no more cash, you have to use this card to buy or sell. So if they want, they can freeze your card and you are shit out of luck.

So I came up with the idea of selling the banana peel to someone for 50 cents. And they would buy it, I would tell them, because they could then sell it for a dollar. And they are guaranteed to sell it because they can tell the person the sell it to to sell it for 2 dollars. I had no idea that I had basically invented the concept of digital currency just because I wanted 50 cents I did not have and could not earn - which, I suppose, is also part of the concept of digital currency..
It's a scam, as far as I can tell. But like how all religions are cults until enough people follow them, all financial innovation is a scam until enough people sign on. Then those things are still cults/scams but no one will admit it anymore..

+1 yThe leftists want this.. They want it so it can be used as a means to strip us of our rights.. So the government can track every penny we spend.. And can shut down our accounts if we speak out, or go against the regime.. Fuck that. And fuck anyone that supports this.

+1 yPerfect tyrannical system and complete control. Chinese social credit system with your money. They can increase or decrease inflation, taxation, how much is in your account, what you can or can't spend money on, carbon taxes, all without your permission for the good of the (oligarchy overlords) masses. Isn't that great?

+1 yIt depends of what digital currency you are talking about. If it is privately issued with block chain and other security in place I think it is preferable to any other kind of currency currently in use and I am in favor of it.
But if it is issued by a government and allows them to monitor transactions that citizens make, I think it is an extreme threat to liberty and freedom and I oppose it.

+1 yHaha, no thanks. We already have crypto currencies โ and one of the main advantages of crypto is privacy.
Digital dollars on the other hand will allow the government to track every cent you have and where it comes and goes.20 Reply- 623 opinions shared on Other topic.
+1 yThe government takes too much money from me. They tax me when I get all income and tax me again when I spend it. I report to them every year how much I earn. Thereโs no reason why they should know how I spend it.

+1 yI support it. Digital Currency issued by the Government, not Bitcoin or Twitter, would allow the IRS to close most of the illegal tax gap and would make it far harder for most illegal transactions to be made. They'd be able to stop most illegal drugs and illegal weapons sales by fully digitizing currency, which is awesome, and they'd be able to stop most forms of tax evasion and tax fraud, which has become one of the largest components of the Federal Defecit in recent years and decades.

+1 yVery, very against.
Although, in fairness, the US has only a fraction of its economy available in physical dollars at any one time, so 90%+ of our economy is already digital anyway.
