Do you have a favorite chair in your house that the family knows is YOUR chair?

I did until my wife GAVE IT AWAY while I was away for my job.
I was very upset.
VERY UPSET.

About my chair, yeah, I was pissed because we got it right after we were married. There was nothing else like it and I got it for a steal - about $300. I loved the color. I loved that it was wide and soft. I loved that my dog would sit next to me in the chair like we were King and Queen.

But, when we moved, our living room was smaller and we really needed to get rid of stuff. She gave the chair to a friend of hers who was not well-to-do so I was accepting of it. What was annoying is that I paid $700 to have it reupholstered THEN she gives it away.

But, more than the waste of money, she threw away my memories and what was important to me. So, as punishment and so she'd understand what she did to me, I made her watch this segment from "All In The Family" from Season 7, Episode 17 "Archie's Chair". The most important part is near the end as the camera slowly focuses on Archie as he reminisces about all the memories made in that chair.

You need to understand the importance of "All In The Family" in American television and cultural history. Archie Bunker's chair was an important part of the show because it symbolized a man's "throne" in the phrase "A man's home is his castle." That chair, Edith's adjoining chair, and the table between them are now in the Smithsonian Institute.

Yes I have my chair in my homeoffice. A poeng from ikea. I also have my place on our couch. More habit tuan anything else but two people with habbits and yit won't change so easily.

Yeah pretty much. Unless I'm in my office sitting at my computer I don't claim any particular seat when I'm with company. I'd say the closet I come to claiming a seat is my office chair, but there is only one chair at my computer and I let other people sit at it when I'm not using it.
