Your thoughts on exotic animals for pets?

My neighbor had a Chimpanzee living in his house for a few months last year. He is a zoologist, so he knows how to deal with them but I did tell him, that I would shoot it if it gets anywhere near my house! I’ve heard of too many horror stories about chimps as pets but he ended up becoming a good friend! I actually missed him when he took him back.

they are highly dangerous. They are smart and will beat you half to heath and rip your face off if they know they can get away with it. Never ever interact with them ever. There are only a handful of wild animals that are safe. 99% of the safe ones have been domesticated already.

I know! And if you’re a male and the chimp is male, they will literally rip your nuts off! That’s what they do to rival males in the wild.

Thats the least of it. They rip off more than that. Evil creatures. Only giraffes, dolphins and elephants are safe to domesticate I think. I would need research before I tried that though.

Not a fan of it. I feel like they’d do better in a sanctuary. But it depends on the exotic animal. Any sort of predator is going to be a hard nope.


Then there’s the whole exotic animal hybrid into domestic. Like the Bengal cat I would love one but I wouldn’t want an f1.

no breeding wild and domestic animals is a recipe for disaster. They cannot be domesticated. There is a wold/dog sanctuary in Canada for wolf/dogs that failed to be domesticated.

I know I visit that sanctuary regularly. There are also ethical wolf hybrid breeders that have created a very biddable hybrid, now that doesn’t mean they’ll all be that way but there are successes. As I said I wouldn’t want an f1 Bengal but I would consider an f5 or higher, basically what that means is the further the generation from wild the more domestic that would be. And by Bengal I don’t mean Bengal tiger I mean the Bengal cat breed.

It's cool but you need extra care, caution and equipments to take them.
