O+ is not a rare blood type. It's actually the most common blood type. I used to work as a phlebotomist.

Mine, my son, my ex-husband, my sister and my boyfriend that died - each one of us had B ( B positive).

Thank God it's not really rare because my son had to have open heart surgery and had about 8 blood transfusions. The hospital didn't need ours, they had enough.

O + almost universal donor. But found out I can’t because I was not 110 pounds… I saw the girl who donated blood who was prob. 130-140 pounds… she came back with pale face…. :( …. I gave up donating blood since.
