Guys, Which word would you most prefer another person to use when talking about you?

Man. There is no valid reason to use either of the other two.

In what context? Generally man. It suffices and gets the point across. It is more useful beyond that because it is also the normative correct one for me. Adherence to norms isn't something I particularly care for but it does streamline things. There is value in that.

Cis is used as a slur as often as anything else, while it doesn't annoy me much, if we're not in a situation where the prefix is neccessitated I tend to view it as petty passive-aggressiveness. And from my experience that is a very kind interpretation. Of course if the situation warrants it, go for it. Writing a gender studies paper? By all means.

Biological male sounds overly detached. If I was to be discussed in a medical paper, sure. Use it. It has merit to mention it. But rather pointless if people are just asking what my name is.

Of course as a sidenote the word man, etymologically just means "person" or "human". Women used to also be man or men. The word used to just be what we all are. Then as languages mixed and grew we began to add variations where it seemed meaningful. Point being: Man used to be the neutral term. Things changed. They are likely to change again, if not the word itself then the related words and opposites. Although cis man and biological male are unlikely to ever be the actual options for everyday use.

If I was talking about myself I would use cis man but I won't mind being called as something else either. People can refer me as whatever they want, gender is not so important.

Man or biological male because cis man sounds artificial and like an academic invention to make things complicated.
