Do any of you wish you focused more on saving up money or anything financially?

Less partying, less nightlife, and more wholesome times with wholesome company.

I didn't realize how much deeper and more meaningful it could be to have deep lifelong friends with a great woman at my side over drinking my brains out at night clubs while dancing with random women.

I figure I'm going to turn off a lot of young people into wild nights as older people who tried to give me the same advice turned me off back then. Those wild nights are definitely insanely fun at times but also very forgettable over the years. It's not just hippie geezer shit from people who forgot how to have fun when we say we wished we partied a bit less and spent more of our youth in a meaningful way than motorboating a woman whose name we forgot while plastered on Jagerbombs.

That is a neat outlook to have, as I have heard many say they prefer their 30's over their 20's.

I just extended college through the better part of my 20s, worked in the bar scene…. life was a party, and that’s what I’m built for. Adult responsibilities and the boring prescribed adult life just has nothing for me. I do it as much as I need to, but it saps my soul.

My 30s should have been better but my lady got sick and more or less incapacitated, so everything went to shit in my 30s just due to her. It’s leaking further into my 40s than I’d hoped, but I’m at least back taking care of my elderly dad and not working, so I can at least live a pretty full life recreationally, but my relationship has just been basically frozen for the last decade, so that’s obviously a huge damper on life. 30s should be pretty decent for others though. I see where it could have been for me too, but that’s just not what life had planned in my case.

I just mean I’m in limbo because my girlfriend is very sick and can’t really functionally be my girlfriend in all the ways one would expect. But I’m not going to leave her just because she’s sick, that would be fucked up. But it does require me to kind of throw a lot of aspects of my own life away in order to stay in a relationship that I’m just hoping can one day be functional again. So I’m just here on hold. I’m actually allowed to see others for sex or even dating, but I’m busy taking care of my elderly father, plus I live with him, and living with a parent, even for caretaking reasons, as a 40-something is DEATH on the dating scene, so I don’t think I’d even try. Being a good son unfortunately means looking like a loser to adult women😂

I'm only 27 but I've pretty much came to the conclusion that most people have shit lives in their 20s but seem to get better in their 30s-40s so I don't wish I did anything differently since there's better things to look forward to later on

18-22 full time student. 22-24 part time student, full time career.
25-27 work, masters degree. 27 met my first husband. 27-30 completed my highest degree (credits for tip salary). Married 31.
I paired mid for my degrees and bought my first car at 24 with cash.
My 20s, I worked hard and made good decisions with life passages, financial decisions, career choices…all the solid foundations…set me to where I am now. No debt and in a very good place.

I wish I had started down the career path I am now in my 20s instead of wasting it on a dream of being an actor.. I also wish I at least finished community college.. And lastly that I started weight lifting earlier in my 20s.. Even though I started at 25..

Oh, yeah I definitely grew even if it was only a little... I guess I would say it gave me a little bit more confidence, and probably made me realize that I need another purpose than acting..

I'm only just beginning my 20's but I have a rough idea of what I want to do😂

1 - keep partying, having fun, traveling, living on the edge, taking risks, and enjoying my young single life for a couple more years.
2 - buy my first house as soon as I can (hopefully by the end of this year)
3 - spend a year or two sorting my shit out when I'm 23
4 - settle down and get married at 25
5 - have my first kid when I'm 27 or 28
6 - enjoy being 30

Haha well step 1 is easy, step 2 is already in motion, step 3 might need some work, step 4 is the tricky one because the ball is in her court, step 5 will happen as long as step 4 does, and step 6 is probably just gonna suck lol

Yeah I wasted way too much time. I dropped out of all my programs, and never stuck with a job. I wish I took up an electrician apprenticeship right out of high school and saved up money to start my own business. I would've already been well established, but right now I feel like I'm starting from point 0

I don't know, I really am not sure what I'd change. Maybe after I broke up with a certain ex, I should have used the money I took out a loan for to fix the car I already had instead of getting a second, but the motor in that one eventually blew up. Probably would have been in the same spot.

I went to a college when I was broke. I thought I could work a part time job and two jobs in the summer and pay as I went. I got behind on tuition and had to drop out. None of the courses were transferable so it was basically 3 wasted years of my life. I never should have gone.

In regards to the update, yeah, I could have just waited for movies to come out and not wasted money on pointless things that I don't have any more. In general, yeah, I could have accepted the long distance relationship instead of thinking I would just face another situation like my mom pulled on me.
