I have a thick leather case for my old Galaxy phone, that used to be my mums. The case is now tatty, but the phone is literally as new. It only gets used as a wifi hot spot, but gets lugged everywhere in my rucksack.

  Sure. Any cover or case will protect it. Just some are better than otthers.

depends. a thicker covering of feathers doesn't make it "better" in terms of protection then say safety glass
