Having to drive to one of the spouces or SO house to let them know that they will not becoming home because they gave their life helping someone else or because of a decision that I made on scene.
It's bad enough to let a stranger know that thier loved one passed despite the heroic efforts that were made to save their loved one, mostly happens in a medical emergency, fortunatly there are very few fire related deaths now.
One of the worst ones I ever had to do was to tell a mom and the family that her son had passed due to a drug overdose on Mother's Day morning.
He was going to go into rehab again on the next day, Monday.
That one sucked big time.
Then we have to wait for to coroner to arrive.
That was probably 3 years ago and it still sucks today.

Lots of my fears have actually already happend.

I've seen someone (some lady in their 40's or 50's) vomit grossly when I took one of my exs to the E. R. and I was truamatized because of that back in 2022.

My other, more recent ex left me when he thought I had cancer. That basically means he would not care if I died today or got sick or got hit by a bus. He would not know nor care. Sad but true. He was way too selfish of a person and way too "practical". Someone can be smart but be evil and unempathetic at the same time. These are the sad realities of life.

I think as long as I have mental peace (somehow) when I die, I will be okay with that.

A nightmarish scenario where I'm trapped in a room filled with pungent body odor that mingles with the nauseating smell of feces and vomit, while the scent of overused sponges and sulfur creates an overwhelming atmosphere.
