You're going to get me into trouble! 😅
But a lot of people these days seem to be wanting to push both men and women down what we might call a "classically feminine" direction, like encouraging even men to cry more.
I actually think we should be doing the opposite and encouraging *both* men and women to cry less going down what we might call the "classically masculine" and Stoic direction.
The one thing I will say though is that crying less should not be about holding back tears. I don't think anyone should do that. If someone needs to cry, cry, don't force yourself.
The reason I think we should encourage crying less is less about the tears and more about thinking positively, productively, even in very trying situations. If we do that, we'll naturally cry less as well as get less angry whether we're men or women, and I really think that's the most mentally healthy way to go.
I don't say it very often since I've pissed off a minority of both men and women sharing this thought and found myself blocked by so many people on this site for sharing this opinion. Oh well, I'm used to it now.
I think a lot of people who blocked me in the past for this conceived me as some male chauvinist type thinking only sissies cry. I'm not like that at all and I've been blocked over 10 times (previous accounts) for sharing this opinion and the asker who blocked me never gave me a chance to reply and explain myself after posting things like, "You're a pig! [block]"
I'm the complete opposite of that chauvinistic type. My favorite shirt until recently was pink and I love to cuddle cut animals and I'm a computer nerd who loves Star Trek: TNG. 😁
I'm just really into psychotherapy and philosophies like Stoicism and Buddhism that focus on mental health, especially with respect to negative thinking patterns, since that's something I've personally struggled a lot with in my youth and also something I was struggling with whenever I got drunk (I managed to get it under control while sober, but still lose control and think negatively when drunk).
I very much say and do the things. Evidence of it is the whiney little brats that have blocked me for calling them on their bullshit and delusions. When I was working daily you learn really quickly that catering to the emotional sensitivities of people will do nothing but make you poor. The government doesn't care if the medication they asked you to make has potentially lethal side effects. They don't care if it has mood swing side effects. They care if 1 it works and 2 if they can make money selling it. As such you give it to people straight up and if they want to whine and cry about it too bad
It's called being a decent human being. I think you might look an idiot in those pink and green polka dot leggings but that doesn't mean I have to tell you. I might think your religious beliefs are hilarious or find your pronouns irritating but that doesn't mean I have to say anything. The world would be nicer if people just shut up and stopped voicing their opinions without forethought.
I don't say how much I appreciate people around me... it's so obvious to me that it somehow slips away...
but I do appreciate them... a lot...
