What is good or evil really?

Hopefully in the "chaotic good" category if I remember the D&D rules correctly.

For me, goodness has nothing to do with the law. If I deem a law immoral, I'll break it. If I deem it moral, I'll follow it.

I have my vices though despite striving to be good. I can be impatient, belligerent when people are pushing my buttons repeatedly, lazy when I'm uninspired, and until the end of the last year, had a serious addiction to alcohol.

But I try to whittle away at my vices bit by bit and I've never acted maliciously towards anyone except once as a little boy, and I felt so guilty after that I never did again.

Hopefully I'm in the "chaotic good" category. I'm definitely not in the "lawful good" category; I'm allergic to those self-righteous types.

As for what I deem to be "good", it's that which improves the lives of those we care about in the long run.

I deem "evil" as that which worsens the lives of those we care about in the long run by prioritizing short-term gains over long-term gains or selfish gains which come at costs imposed on others.

Probably neutral if anything I've done a lot of good in my life but I've also done some pretty terrible things long ago.

I would say that I'm chaotic good. But sometimes I believe that evil people are luckier and life often goes well for them.
